For those of us with poor eye sight which may be long or short sighted vision or having astigmatisms in your eyes there is hope in the way of eye correction with either surgery such as Lasik surgery or through laser surgery which is slightly less evasive. With the Lasik surgery if is also known as laser surgery however the treatment is not always the same. Using Lasik surgery to correct your vision will mean that the cornea of the eye is cut with a laser and the folds of flesh from the eye that have been cut are folded into another position so that this part of your eyes become the normal shape for correct 20/20 vision.
The surgery has helped millions of people to date in many of the more developed countries such as America, Australia, Japan European countries and England. Lasik eye surgery has become a multibillion dollar organization over the last decade though was once very controversial. Most new theories and treatment styles are ridiculed until they are soundly tested which was the same for the Lasik eye correction surgery but it is now hailed as one of the many medical breakthroughs that has the chance of helping people all over the world.

There are several ways to correct your eye sight even through doing eye exercises that will help strengthen your vision. Contact lenses were invented and put into use around the 1950s and there are still glasses for those who do not like the idea of putting a glass or plastic cover in contact with the eye. Touching the eye can be difficult and there are many stories about the lenses being rotated to the corners of the eye so that the person cannot get them back out again. After this they need to go to a doctor or optometrist to have the contacts removed.
There is the other option of eye correction surgery through the latest innovation in eye correction called laser eye surgery or LASIK eye correction. This is a relatively simple procedure using a laser to alter the shape of the corneal tissue which a thin flap is cut with the laser and then folded into a regulated shape for average vision. After the surgery many people have had the return of 20/20 vision for a completely successful procedure and have gone on without ever having to need eye correction surgery again. This is not always the case however because there are also many people that need a second or third round of the laser surgery to re alter their eyes to regain excellent vision again. This is not usually the fault of the surgery but often the people who have undergone the surgery have jobs where their eyes are under constant strain which affects their site.
